Be Smart About Weight Loss: Don’t Eat High Calories When Dieting
Math is Back –It ‘s Time to Use Grade 3 skills Again
For some people math comes naturally. For others, it was a stretch all
through elementary and high school. But don’t worry; regardless of whether you
were a math star, the kind of math used in simple weight loss equations is no
higher than a grade 3 level. Class: today’s lesson is on
calories and how
they effect your dieting!
Fortunately or unfortunately losing weight is a bit of a numbers game. Here
goes, if you’re 5’6 and weigh 137 pounds and are consuming 5000 calories a day
it’s very likely you’ll gain weight quickly. It’s simple math. We should be
eating for our size. Obviously other factors such as intense physical activity
play into this, but if you’re a petite woman eating the same amount
of food as a 6’7 man, then you’ll begin to see your waist expand at a rapid
rate.
If you’d like to slim down take an average of what you consume in a
day, this will become your average caloric intake. This average intake will
be your baseline for slimming down. To do this, you’ll need to consume fewer
calories than your current intake.
Go down in intervals of 25-50 at first and evaluate on a weekly basis from there. Once you
reach a weight you’d like to maintain then continue eating at that caloric
level.
So forget the 1200 calorie diet and take charge of your eating with a simple
math equation. If you’re diligent the result could be a smaller dress size. Now
that’s the kind of math we all like!
