Learn the Basics of Effective Weight Loss for Weight Loss Management
Micro and Macro Dieting
Weight loss management is not easy. If it was easy to manage our weight,
there wouldn’t be a booming diet industry with
weight loss programs from
the French diet to the
Mediterranean diet. But why all the fuss? Because we want
to look our best and achieve the most effective weight loss.
One quality of a good manager is to look at their options, determine the best
course of action, make an informed decision and go with it. Wouldn’t it be
great if we could all manage our dieting efforts like that? Diet management is
not simple due to the variables involved. Some of these
variables are (in random order):
• What we eat
• When we eat
• How much we eat
• Activity Level
• Metabolism
To properly manage your diet for healthy weight loss
some of the above variables need to change in order for any level of success to
be wrought. More simply, when one of the above items changes, it means that our lifestyle will change a little in some
circumstances and a lot in others.
To determine your circumstance you’ll have to put your manager hat on and look
at your diet from both a macro and micro perspective. Macro-wise look at your
diet as the sum of all the variables and determine what can/needs to change.
Micro-wise look at each area individually and get to know your body, your habits
and your tendencies.
Looking at your diet from a micro and macro perspective will help you efficiently
determine your next steps and how you’d like to achieve them.
