Do Quick Weight Loss Plans Really Work?
The Deciding Factors
Quick weight loss plans are abundant in the diet industry because companies know
people fantasize about losing weight quickly. The problem with
fast weight loss is that it’s not usually
accompanied by healthy dieting principals
like fitness and nutrition and thus
it’s not completely safe and
effective weight loss.
The following deciding factors on quick weight loss diets
will provide
tips to lose weight and show the pros
and cons of quick diets versus longer-term
weight loss programs:
1) Most fast diets don’t involve nutrition and fitness. Because ‘quickie’ diets
are geared at providing a quick-fix, they normally leave out the healthy
foundations
associated with a good diet. Therefore, exercise, nutrition and balanced eating
are not normally part of a fast diet –yet these are the items that will sustain
long-term weight loss.
2) Most fast diets promote quick weight loss…and weight gain. Although quick
weight loss methods normally work for a short period of time, they eventually
lead to weight gain, cravings and
yo-yo dieting. The reason for this losing strategy is that quickie diets are not geared at future weight
management –just a ‘pick me up.’
3) Most fad diets don’t teach healthy weight loss principals leaving the dieter in
the same place as when they started. Ultimately, diets should educate on
how to lose weight as well as
provide insight to make it happen. Without the education component, diets are reduced to short-term
undertakings. With education, diets have the potential of changing a person’s
lifestyle and encouraging long-term weight management.
