Finding a quick weight loss diet on the web is about as easy as finding google. Quickie diets are so numerous they almost outnumber the healthy, regular-paced diets. Yet do fast weight loss diets like the 3 day diet and the 7 day diet contain healthy ingredients for effective weight loss?

There’s no question that if immediate gratification diets are followed closely they can cause people to lose 5 or 10 pounds. However, most of the ‘melted pounds’ are simply water weight. In addition, most fad diets are imbalanced and monotonous from a nutrition perspective. What happens when the 3 or 7- day diet period is over? People tend to gain back the weight soon after going off the diet because they revert to their regular ways of eating.

Fast diets can also promote yo-yo dieting, or a roller coaster effect in one’s dieting regime as they encourage short bursts of weight loss. Ultimately, these short bursts of weight loss are usually accompanied by longer periods of weight gain unless people actually go on a legitimate diet program.

The great news is, there’s many weight loss programs which actually promote long-term dieting and by adhering to a longer term diet, people tend to lose more pounds up-front. All this is to say: if you’re looking to lose weight quickly, it’s best to stick with a widely accepted weight loss program rather than taking a crash-course in dieting.  The effectiveness of the long-term weight loss plan will be much greater and healthier over the long-run.
