Low Carb Diet Products for a High Protein Diet
Enjoying a Different Kind of Carb
With so many low carb diets on the weight
loss radar, low carb diet products have become a big business. Now, those on a
high protein diet such as the southbeach diet
can enjoy the comfort of carbs in a different way.
When the first low-carb diet came out, there wasn’t much in the way of
specialized foods geared at 'low-carbers.' So, people made do with what they
could find in the grocery stores and tried their hardest not to succumb to the
temptation of strolling into the bakery section and grabbing a bagel.
Those days are gone. Now low-carbers can enjoy a regular diet with the addition
of many new foods which help them lead a normal diet life. From special bread to
sugar-free desserts and goodies, it’s almost as though a new food group has been
created with the onset of this diet craze.
Despite the immanent creation of this new food group, it’s important to find a
balance when seeking low carbohydrate products for the following reasons. First,
always purchasing specialty products can be very costly over time and will likely
boost your weekly grocery budget by a large margin. Second, low carb products
often contain lots of extra ingredients to give them low carb status, as such,
they are best eaten in moderation. Case in point, ever eaten a low carb
dessert or a handful of no-sugar specialty chocolates and ran to the bathroom soon
thereafter? This is due to sorbitol or molitol –two products that cause people
to dash to the bathroom when eaten in large quantities.
Finding the balance between eating natural foods and low-carb treats and
alternatives is a hard one –but something that should be thought-through for the
sake of upholding a healthy diet.
