The Herbalife Diet –Is this Herbal Weight Loss Plan Here to Stay?
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The herbalife diet is based on one meal per day, protein shakes, vitamins and
supplements. This diet depends on herbal weight loss as one of its main
cornerstones. Currently this is one of the most popular
weight loss plans
available. However, before jumping into it head-first, there are a few things to
be aware of as you narrow your search for the right
weight loss program.
Herbalife states that you can eat one full meal per day, drink a
protein shake
in place of two meals and consume multivitamins and herbal pills to achieve a
total intake of over 1000 calories per day.
The good part of this diet is that many people lead busy lives so taking a shake
in place of a meal seems really doable when you have an ‘on the run’ lifestyle.
The bad part of this diet is that it’s reliant on
diet shakes and
diet pills.
Consequently, if you’re on a vacation, out for breakfast and dinner -or
whatever the case may be, it can be really difficult to stick to the plan day in and day
out. In addition, this plan is one which depends upon the shake and pills
long-term; therefore, it will always involve spending money for as long as
you’re on the diet. If it works, you could be spending money on shakes and
pills for the rest of your life.
The ugly part of this plan is that the herbalife supplements contain sida
cardifolia, the botanical source of ephedrine akaloids which should be
avoided, especially if you’re taking any kind of medication. Moreover, these
herbal by-products are not good to ingest whether you’re on medication or not
because according to the FDA they can stimulate the heart and nervous system to
the point of heart attack and stroke in severe cases.
Is this plan here to stay? Despite the above-mentioned factors people still seem
to sing its praises, but like with any fad diet, its popularity will rise and
fall.
