6 Characteristics of Effective Weight Loss Programs
Is yours on Target?
Effective weight loss programs must do more than just provide
ways to lose
weight. They must teach future weight loss principals so each dieter can
experience their own ultimate weight loss
–otherwise, what’s the point of being on a
weight loss diet? Weight loss programs
need to provide people with a full gamut of tools in order to empower them
towards long term weight loss
through the right fitness and nutrition
avenues. Does your diet program shape up?
6 Characteristics of effective diet programs:
1. Teach how to lose weight
2. Teach how to make better food and drink choices
3. Incorporate fitness and nutrition principals
4. Cause weight loss
5. Allow dieter to take ownership so they can eventually diet on their own
6. Must provide diet teachings consistent with long term weight loss and weight
management.
The fact is, we can’t be on a program for the rest of our lives –if that was the
case, we’d be broke before retirement. Therefore, a dieting program needs to
provide sound nutritional and fitness teachings and give people enough materials that
when they begin to diet on their own, they aren’t left high and dry.
Part of the reason so many dieters end up falling into the
cravings and yo-yo
dieting tornado is because they either haven’t been taught the correct
principals or they lack the discipline to continue. Diet programs can only do so
much to inspire and motivate a person’s discipline, but they can teach
people the
right lessons to hopefully sustain their reasons for dieting.
Therefore, if you are not on a diet program with these characteristics, consider
looking into a new one. The key to dieting is to eventually graduate from your
program and make it on your own –so make sure you’re getting the right tools and
teachings to get there.
