Why Should I Care About Diet and Weight Loss, Health and Weight Control?
Reasons to Care
The Western World tends to have an unhealthy obsession with appearance. Many
years ago it was en vogue to be overweight, whereas now, people tend to worship
chiseled bodies and waif-like models. Ultimately diet and weight loss is about
health and seeking to maintain
weight control despite the crazy portion
sizes and proliferation of unnatural foods which have inundated restaurants and
grocery stores alike.
For one moment forget about the outside and think about your insides. We always
talk about weight loss to look better -and by looking better, we’ll feel better.
This may be true, although, the entire argument is based on an ‘outside’
motivation for dieting.
The challenge is if you only diet for your appearance you may find that you’re
missing a major component. Maintaining one’s weight at a healthy level is also
an important health consideration. When we’re operating within the
optimal weight target for our age, sex and height; our bodies have a better
chance of running like a well-oiled machine. Practically, this means eating
whole natural foods, watching portions sizes, exercising, drinking 8 glasses of
water per day and so on.
The benefit to thinking about the inside when dieting, is if you put the
right things in, the outside can change for the better. Whether it is
weight loss, skin brightness or the like,
putting the right things inside enhances the outside -or part that people see.
