Say a Final Good-Bye to Cravings and Yo-Yo Dieting
Break the Cycle
Breaking the cravings and yo-yo dieting cycle is one of the hardest behaviors to
crush. For yo-yo dieters, the end-goal of experiencing
personal weight loss is still in-tact –it’s just getting there which poses a
problem. The key to steady, long term
weight loss is finding a sound weight
loss program which is reflective of your lifestyle; as well as looking at
dieting as a way of life rather than a short term goal. With that in mind, look
for dieting programs with both present
and future appeal to keep you motivated through thick and thin.
There are many reasons people give up on dieting -
some personal and others aggravated by events we cannot control. For many, dieting
is a periphery program we pick up or drop based on convenience. Thus, it’s usually one of the first
things to get dropped when the going gets tough.
To break this cycle and experience a
weight loss breakthrough it’s important to keep two thoughts in mind:
1) Dieting must be a way of life rather than a non-committal extracurricular
activity.
2) Dieting must be viewed as a life-long commitment rather than quick-fix to
slip into a pair of pants or ready one’s body for the beach.
When looking at dieting through the eyes of these two principals, weight loss
takes on a different look. It no longer becomes something you’ll get to when you
have time or pick up when you feel like it, but a life-long commitment to health
and well being through the daily decisions we make about food and activity.
Therefore, if you want to put an end to the yo-yo diet nightmare, consider
looking at dieting from the perspective of way of life and commitment. Once you
do, it’s likely your dieting perspectives will change and so will your day to
day diet.
