Adkins diet + Atkins diet –Both the Same Low Carbohydrate Diet
A Balancing Act
Many people mistake the “adkins diet” for the true “atkins
diet”, a diet plan that has swept through the nation at record speeds due to the foods
it promotes and results it garners. This low
carbohydrate diet has won the hearts, changed the perspectives and shrunk
the waistlines of many people due to it’s popular yet widely disputed philosophies, results and food
allowances.
It’s no surprise that a weight loss plan
allowing whip cream, strawberries, cheeses, meats and peanut butter hasn’t taken
long to catch on. Everyone has secret desires of being able to indulge in
comfort food, and for some people, this is the answer.
The atkins plan is counter-cultural to
many other low fat diets because it celebrates fatty foods rather than condoning
them. For people who’ve long observed a low fat diet, this low carb, high-fat
alternative is difficult to understand until they see the results.
Although this diet touts the joys of eating high fat foods, it does promote a
somewhat balanced approach to eating. It promises to give its subscribers the
information required to find their optimal individual level of carb intake
-which is supposed to be the key to its long term success.
Another interesting approach it takes to dieting
is to endorse nutrient-dense carbs. With this in mind, it focuses heavily on
good and bad carbs and educates people with information on which carbs have high
sugar or little value to nutrition.
All in all, the atkins diet plan does teach some good weight loss measures,
however, it can be costly purchasing large amounts of meats, cheeses and
vegetables so if you're on a tight food budget it may not be the best eating
plan for you.
